We want to congratulate our Year 8-11 students on the way that they prepared and conducted themselves during our exam period. The whole exam process ran quite smoothly for a school of our size and it was due to our great students, dedicated staff, and organisational practices. Many thanks to all our families for their support at this busy time of year. Exam results will be available on Schoolbox over the next few weeks, please be patient with our staff, some of them have up to 100 exams to assess.
It’s that time of the year already, can you believe how quickly it has gone! Semester Two classes have begun on Monday 18 June. As has previously been communicated, students have until Thursday 21 June to make any final class changes, after this date changes cannot be made. If your child has already made changes to their Semester Two subjects, please ensure they have the correct books, including textbooks before the beginning of Term Three.
On the last day of Term Two, your child’s end of semester report will be sent electronically via the e-mail address you have registered with the College. After a full reporting and assessment review in 2016, we have made many changes however these won’t be apparent on the reports alone. Schoolbox is our main source of communication between school and home and it contains assessment tasks, results, and comments. For Year 7-10 subjects, developmental rubrics are used to show your child’s level of achievement, and the next steps/levels required so that they can use this information for reflection and future development. We strongly encourage you to read your child’s report with them and then go through Schoolbox to see all results, comments, and rubrics. If you need assistance navigating Schoolbox please contact Clancy Merrett or our IT Team.
As you are probably aware, we run lunchtime Study Hall sessions for students that have failed to complete their home learning or those that need assistance. If your child was issued a lunch time study hall and failed to attend, they will receive an after school detention. If you receive one of these notices please support us and remind your child of the importance of attending lunch time sessions and/or completing their homework. Students can also choose to attend Study Hall if they need some extra time or assistance. It is held in F301 during the second half of lunch every day of the week.
