Welcome back to a cold Term Three. Here are a few opportunities that are on the horizon.
Student Leadership 2019
In early August we will be looking for nominations from current Year 10 and 11 students for Student Leadership positions for 2019. The leadership positions open to the current Year 11s are: College Captains, Bosco Captains, and House Captains. Leadership positions open to current Year 10 and 11 students are: Student Action Team (SAT) Leaders in the following areas: Arts, Sport, Learning, Languages, Agriculture, Faith and Justice, Sacred Earth, and Technology. It would be great if families could start talking to their daughters and sons in Years 10 & 11 and encourage them to look into these leadership opportunities. Leadership opportunities for student currently in Year 7 and 8 will be available early in Term Four.
Student Voice: Semester Two 2018
Student Voice and Participation encompasses opportunities for students to have a say about things that affect them (voice), to make decisions about the learning and its context (empowerment), and to improve wellbeing, sense of self and connection to learning (engagement).
For Semester Two we would like to trial the establishment of a ‘Student Voice and Participation’ team that have representative from a greater diversity of the student population. We invite each Homeroom to nominate/select one student to represent them on the team and to be the facilitator of seeking opinion on a few key aspects of school life that directly impacts students.
Examples for Semester Two Student Voice topics:
Other topics will be student directed.
Once again we encourage families to have a discussion with your son/daughter regarding participation in Student Voice.
